Google Ads Demand Gen Tracking
“Other Advertising Platforms” count ‘View Through Conversions’* in the same way as Click Through Conversions!
Seriously?
No wonder Meta is making such huge sums of money from advertising.
I know Google is constantly working on new ways to funnel more money form advertisers directly to their shareholders, but at least they have never added VTCs directly to the Conversions columns in Google Ads (as far as I now…)
And to be fair, the new ‘Platform Comparable’ conversions columns will allow advertisers to compare ad spend more realistically between advertising platforms.
*”View-through conversions (“View-through conv.”) are conversions that are recorded when users view (but don’t interact with) an ad and then convert later. These conversions are counted based on a period of time called a view-through conversion window. (Default VTC windows in Google Ads is 1 day). This metric automatically excludes conversions from people who have also interacted with any of your other ads.”
“With Google’s Active View technology, an impression of a display ad is considered viewable when at least 50% of the ad is onscreen for at least one second.”
“The last viewable impression will get credit for the view-through conversion.”
